The FRIUS Functional Restoration Institute was established in 1983 as an alternative to typical chronic musculoskeletal pain treatments through physician directed and interdisciplinary approach. Chronic pain rehabilitation experts from a variety of fields work as a team to provide patient care, including medical, nursing, physical & occupational therapy, case management, and counseling. Within this interdisciplinary approach, team members are available to patients on a daily basis to provide whole-body measurement-driven strengthening, comprehensive class-room education and individualized attention to Workers Compensation case issues and barriers to recovery.
FRIUS was the first comprehensive Functional Restoration Institute in the world. Throughout its history, it has received many awards and published numerous books and peer-reviewed articles regarding chronic pain & rehabilitation topics.
